  • Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until golden brown.
  • Remove from heat and allow the browned butter to cool slightly. Mix 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of packed light brown sugar in a large bowl, then add the cooled brown butter.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
  • Whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ¾ cup of cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
