Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions for Vampire Donuts

  • Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet mix to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Grease a donut pan with non-stick spray. Spoon the batter into the pan, filling cavities about three-quarters full. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove the donuts after baking and cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Prepare the red icing by whisking together powdered sugar and milk until thick and spreadable. Add red food coloring and mix.
  • Once cooled, dip the top of each donut into the red icing. Add candy eyes and black sprinkles while still wet.
  • Allow the icing to set for about 15-20 minutes, then serve on a festive platter.
