Instructions

Step‑by‑Step Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil.
  • In a skillet set over medium heat, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until beef is browned and onions are translucent. Season with salt and pepper, drain excess fat, and set aside to cool.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out your refrigerated pizza dough and divide it into 16 equal squares.
  • Scoop a small portion of the beef mixture into the center of each dough square, add a square of cheddar cheese, and fold the corners of the dough to form a ball. Pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  • In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the baking soda, reduce to a simmer, and drop each filled dough ball into the water for about 30 seconds.
  • Using a slotted spoon, remove each dough ball and place them on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until deep golden brown.
  • Once baked, let them cool slightly before serving with ketchup or mustard.

Notes

Ensure to avoid overstuffing the bombs and seal tightly to prevent leaks. Don’t skip boiling the dough for the pretzel texture! Experiment with different dips for more flavors.
