Ingredients
  

For the Pasta

  • 8 ounces fettuccine Swap with gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.

For the Shrimp

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Butter can be used for added richness.
  • 1 pound shrimp Peeled and deveined.

For the Sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half or whole milk.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese Freshly grated is recommended.

For the Finish

  • to taste red pepper flakes Optional.

Cooking Steps

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil, add fettuccine, and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and keep warm.
  • Sauté minced garlic in the skillet for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, cooking for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Whisk in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Adjust thickness with reserved pasta water if necessary, then season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Add fettuccine and sautéed shrimp back to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the sauce.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley, alongside garlic bread for a complete meal.

Notes
