Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions for Salsa

  • Start by chopping 3 ½ cups of ripe tomatoes and placing them in a strainer over a bowl. Allow them to drain for about 5 minutes to remove excess liquid, which helps prevent your salsa from becoming too watery.
  • Once the tomatoes have drained, discard the excess liquid and transfer the tomatoes to your blender or food processor. Add ¼ cup of diced onion, ⅓ cup of finely chopped jalapeño, 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped cilantro, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, ½ teaspoon each of salt and black pepper, and finally, ½ teaspoon of lime juice.
  • Cover your blender or food processor and pulse the mixture until it's blended to your liking. Keep an eye on the consistency during blending—stop when it looks just right.
  • Carefully transfer your freshly made salsa into a clean jar or serving bowl. For the best flavor, refrigerate the salsa for at least 30 minutes to let the ingredients meld together.

Notes

Allow the salsa to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully! Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
