Instructions

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Salsa

  • Drain the tomatoes. Begin by chopping 3 ½ cups of fresh tomatoes into small pieces. Place them in a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and let them drain for about 5 minutes.
  • Combine ingredients in a blender. Once the tomatoes are drained, discard the liquid and transfer them to a blender. Add ¼ cup of chopped onion, ⅓ cup of cilantro, and 2 tablespoons of jalapeño. Also, sprinkle in ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, ½ teaspoon of cumin, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Add ½ teaspoon of lime juice.
  • Blend to your desired consistency. Secure the lid on your blender and pulse the mixture for 15 to 30 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  • Transfer and store. Pour your homemade salsa into a clean jar or container. Seal it tightly and store it in the refrigerator.
