  • 1 pound sirloin steak cut into strips

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

For the Rice Mixture

  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup canned black beans rinsed and drained
  • ½ cup frozen corn thawed
  • ½ cup diced bell pepper any color
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ¾ cup queso blanco cheese sauce for creaminess

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Season sirloin steak strips with chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook the steak for 4–5 minutes until seared.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked white rice, diced tomatoes, canned black beans, thawed frozen corn, diced bell pepper, and diced red onion. Stir gently to mix.
  • Pour queso blanco cheese sauce into the rice mixture and stir gently until coated. The warm cheese creates a creamy texture.
  • Transfer cooked steak to the rice mixture and fold gently to combine.
  • Sprinkle freshly chopped cilantro on top before serving. Serve hot in bowls or as a filling for burritos.
