  • In a medium saucepan, combine 1¼ cup of apple cider, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Add ⅓ cup of brown sugar, 1 diced yellow onion, 1 grated clove of garlic, and herbs like 1 tablespoon of chopped rosemary and 1 teaspoon of chopped thyme. Stir in 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon of minced fresh ginger, and ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg, along with sliced Honeycrisp apple. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes, allowing it to thicken and meld the flavors.
  • While the glaze is simmering, take 4 skin-on chicken thighs and season them generously. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon each of black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, and finish with ½ teaspoon of smoked paprika. Rub the seasonings into the chicken.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully lay the seasoned chicken thighs skin-side down into the skillet. Sear for 5 to 7 minutes or until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
