Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure that it’s hot and ready for baking.
  • Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound with a meat mallet until they are about ½ inch thick.
  • Lay two slices of turkey and one slice of Swiss cheese on each flattened chicken breast. Roll each breast tightly, securing the ends with toothpicks.
  • Create a breading station by placing seasoned flour in one dish, whisking eggs and milk in another, and mixing breadcrumbs with garlic powder in a third.
  • Dip each chicken roll first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and cook the chicken rolls for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • Transfer the seared chicken rolls to a baking dish and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the remaining butter, whisk in flour, and add milk gradually until the sauce thickens, then stir in Swiss cheese.
  • Let the Chicken Cordon Bleu rest for a few minutes, slice, and drizzle with the Swiss cheese sauce.

Notes

Allow the chicken to rest after baking to ensure the juices redistribute, making each slice tender and flavorful.
