Ingredients
  

For the Meatloaf

  • 1.5 pounds ground turkey a lean protein
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs whole wheat for healthier option
  • 0.5 cup milk dairy-free alternatives can be used
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing

For the Glaze

  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup as substitute
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, and egg. Add oregano, basil, thyme, salt, pepper, and cooled onion and garlic mixture. Mix gently until combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan or baking sheet.
  • Whisk together ketchup, honey, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl. Spread the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
