Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions for Old Bay Garlic Shrimp Pasta

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine shrimp, 2 teaspoons of Old Bay seasoning, and lemon juice. Toss to coat evenly and marinate for about 5 minutes.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter with olive oil. Sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add marinated shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add 2 tablespoons of butter, and sauté shallots for about 2 minutes until translucent. Add remaining garlic and sauté for another minute.
  • Pour in white wine and simmer for 2–3 minutes until reduced to about 1 tablespoon.
  • Stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning. Cook for 2–3 minutes until cheese melts and sauce is creamy.
  • Return shrimp to skillet and add chopped parsley. Stir to combine and let shrimp warm in sauce for 1–2 minutes.
  • Add cooked spaghetti to skillet, tossing gently to coat with sauce. Add reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency, and adjust seasoning.
  • Plate the Old Bay Garlic Shrimp Pasta, garnishing with extra parmesan cheese and parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently, adding a splash of cream or pasta water to keep moist.
