Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • 1 pound beef steak (sirloin or flank) thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

For Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for high-heat cooking
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger grated

For the Veggies

  • 1 medium green bell pepper sliced into strips
  • 1 medium red bell pepper sliced into strips
  • 1 medium onion sliced into rings
  • 2 scallions green onions sliced

Seasoning & Garnish

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch until smooth. Add the thinly sliced beef and gently toss until well-coated. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stirring quickly for about 30 seconds.
  • Carefully add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer. Sear undisturbed for 1-2 minutes, then stir until browned, about another 2 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, toss in the sliced green and red bell peppers along with the onion. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Return the beef to the skillet and mix it with the vegetables. Sprinkle in the black pepper and drizzle the sesame oil, tossing together for about 2 more minutes.
  • Sprinkle the sliced green onions and optional toasted sesame seeds over the top before serving.

Notes

Serve over steamed white or brown rice to soak up the delicious juices.
