Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, pour 1 cup of water and add 2 packets of unflavored gelatin. Warm this mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally until the gelatin dissolves completely, which should take about 5 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from heat and mix in half of the sweetened condensed milk thoroughly, creating a creamy base for the Halloween Jello Shots.
  • Carefully divide this creamy mixture among shot glasses, filling each about one-third full. Place the shot glasses in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the white layer is firmly set.
  • Pour another cup of water into a saucepan. Add the remaining packet of unflavored gelatin and warm it over low heat, stirring until it dissolves completely.
  • Remove it from the heat and stir in the orange Jell-O powder, mixing until fully dissolved and vibrant orange.
  • Next, pour in the fresh orange juice to the orange gelatin mixture, stirring until well combined. Carefully layer this orange mixture over the chilled white layer in the shot glasses, filling them to nearly the top.
  • Return the shot glasses to the refrigerator for approximately 1 hour, or until this layer is set and firm to the touch.
  • Once the orange layer has set, retrieve the reserved white mixture from earlier and add a few drops of yellow food coloring to it, stirring until the color is uniform.
  • Gently pour this yellow mixture over the orange layer in the shot glasses, making sure to cover fully. Refrigerate the Jello shots for about 2 hours, or until the final layer is completely firm.
  • After the Halloween Jello Shots are fully set, top each shot with a piece of candy corn for that delightful Halloween spirit. Serve these colorful treats to your guests.

Notes

Allow for sufficient chilling time between layers for the best visual result. Experiment with flavors by substituting spirits as desired.
