Ingredients
  

For the Salad Base

  • 200 g pasta (rotini or fusilli) Choose a fun shape to add to the playful theme.
  • 150 g mini mozzarella balls Perfect for creating creepy eyeballs!
  • 1 black olive Slice into rounds for the perfect pupil effect.
  • cherry tomatoes Halved for extra color and sweetness.
  • 1 cucumber Diced to add a refreshing crunch.
  • 1 red bell pepper Diced to introduce a pop of color.
  • 1 yellow bell pepper Diced for added sweetness and nutrition.
  • 50 g black olives Sliced to bring depth and briny flavor.
  • 50 g green olives Sliced for a contrasting texture.

For the Dressing

  • 3 tablespoon olive oil A great base for the dressing that adds richness.
  • 2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar For tang and depth of flavor in your salad.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Enhance the flavor profile with a herbaceous kick.
  • Salt and pepper To taste, essential for balancing flavors.

For the Garnish

  • fresh basil leaves Chopped to brighten the dish and add a fresh finish.

Cooking Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add pasta. Cook according to package instructions for 8-10 minutes, then drain and rinse under cold water.
  • Slice the black olive into thin rounds and insert a slice into the center of each mozzarella ball to create eyeballs. Arrange on top of the cooled pasta.
  • Dice cucumber, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, and halve cherry tomatoes. Fold these vegetables and sliced olives into the pasta.
  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Whisk until well blended.
  • Pour the dressing over the pasta and vegetables. Gently toss to coat all ingredients evenly.
  • Sprinkle chopped basil over the salad. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Start boiling pasta earlier to keep the salad fresh for your party. Adjust veggies to your taste, and add mozzarella eyeballs just before serving for best presentation.
