Ingredients
  

For the Cranberries

  • 2 cups Fresh Cranberries Choose firm cranberries for best flavor and presentation.
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Essential for sweet coating.
  • 1 cup Water Helps dissolve the sugar for syrup soak.

For the Sugaring Process

  • 1 cup Extra Granulated Sugar For rolling the cranberries.
  • Optional Flavoring A splash of vanilla extract or orange zest adds flavor.

Preparation Steps

  • Start by rinsing 2 cups of fresh cranberries thoroughly under cool water. Remove any bruised or blemished fruits. Set aside to drain for about 10 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, about 5 minutes.
  • Carefully place the drained cranberries into a large mixing bowl and pour the warm syrup over them. Toss gently to coat and let soak for at least 30 minutes.
  • After soaking, drain the cranberries from the syrup and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle an additional 1 cup of sugar over them, rolling to coat.
  • Allow the coated cranberries to sit for about 1 to 2 hours at room temperature to dry.
  • Once dried, enjoy the Sugared Cranberries or store them in an airtight container.

Notes

Store Sugared Cranberries in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them for up to 3 months.
