  • Melt unsalted butter and semisweet chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat until smooth.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until frothy.
  • Combine the chocolate mixture with the sugar and egg mixture until incorporated.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  • In a clean bowl, beat softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth, then add sour cream and eggs.
  • Pour cheesecake batter over the brownie layer and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes until edges are set and center jiggles slightly.
  • Cool at room temperature for about an hour, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
